Both of them came together to create and market the PostScript page description language, which would describe the appearance of a printed page in a higher level than the actual output bitmap. It was incorporated in October 1983 in California and later on incorporated in Delaware in May 1997. Today, the company has successfully grown with almost 14000 employees worldwide, out of which 40% are working in San Jose.
